I cant see 360 type gfx with playable frame rates coming from a mobile chip that needs no cooling. not any time soon. videos of Kal-El running tech demos show GFX much lower then consoles. And this is before they have added AI and other tasks the those demos don't have

Mali is not the next generation of the ARM RISC architecture. It is the family name for their GPUs, which NVIDIA, Imagination Technologies and Qualcomm (amongst others) all compete with. The fastest of the current gen Malis (as with PowerVR) is massively faster than the GPU in Tegra 2. The next gen Mali is expected to obliterate Tegra 3 in GPU performance (not sure about PowerVR).

What were you smoking when you wrote this Nick? Sooooo many mistakes! Ignoring all the spelling and grammar mistakes, why do you talk about nvidia's mobile chips as if they are the enemy of ARM? They are ARM chips! ARM don't 'make' any chips, ARM is just the arch like x86. You don't say x86 is finished when Intel bring out their next chip because they are based on x86 in the first place. Apple, TI, Freescale, Samsung, Qualcomm, nVidia... all use ARM. If they fight amongst themselves only ARM wins. Mali is just the next ARM arch design but nVidia will still be using ARM in all there mobile chips. What makes them different is that they know graphics so should shine in that department.

So they want to downgrade the graphics on consoles and have no dev support? All I know is that based on tegra 4 which will have 8 cpu cores and 60 cuda cores (direct x 11 support rumored) launching next year with windows 8 and android 4.0 or later will be a great competitor to this gen of cosoles, and even better than wii U specs.
Not that I have anything against the games of the 80's and 90's, in many ways they were more innovative and fun than the yet-another-shooter phenomenon we have today, but this is ridiculous. Mobile chips have their place, namely in mobile systems, but the current generation of consoles is badly grunt-starved as it is. We don't want console graphics, as that implies 30fps in a down-scaled resolution with poor polygon counts, but rather excellent native performance. I realize it might be considered a matter of semantics but yeesh...
