Surface look alikes doing well apparently

Lenovo unveiled its Miix 510 2-in-1 device at IFA 2016, which looked rather like Microsoft's Surface line of devices.

Two-in-One and notebooks

Word on the street is that Microsoft's partner on its next-generation Surface Pro series 2-in-1 and notebook products including the Surface Pro 5, Surface Book 2 and new Surface-brand desktops (which are likely all-in-one PCs) will be Pegatron.

It has heard it is a money spinner

Software giant Microsoft is not the best at picking where the industry is going, it missed the Internet and failed to get into mobile so the news that it is thinking of getting into the PC hardware business just as it is dying is not surprising.

The Surface Table was touted as a damn fine idea a few years ago, but it never really saw much mileage outside the television studios.

Feature phone surrender

There is an interesting rumour circulating which suggests that Microsoft looking to shut down Lumia smartphone business and sell Nokia brand to Foxconn.

Wants top of the range

The much rumoured never seen Microsoft Surface Phone is not likely to have Intel inside.  According to the latest rumours, it will have the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 instead.

But not until 2017

The dark satanic rumour mill has manufactured a hell on earth yarn which suggests that Microsoft is going to bring out three Surface smartphones, but not until 2017.

Arriving by the end of the year

Details of Microsoft's coming Surface phone have started appearing on online and we did a quick shifty amongst them to find out what was the most likely.
