GTC 2010: 40 times faster than Fermi

In 2013 Nvidia plans to launch a Maxwell chip and Jensen just told at the press conference that the new chip is 40 times faster than Fermi and that it will get up to 10 to twelve times faster than Kepler.

The manufacturing process of choice is 22nm, something that TSMC hopes to have in 2013 but it still leaves quite a gap in 2012 when there won’t be anything really new, just maybe a tweak in Kepler.

This is a long time to wait for a new architecture, but at the same time it's all about the FABS that simply won’t be ready. 28nm only comes in 2011 and until 2013 we will be stuck with it.

Are you 100% sure that they don't mean performance/watt?

I know this site has kinda turned into a AMD fanboy lair and lots of people are upset about that.
Deep down inside I'm still a Nvidia fanboy, but this guy (Jensen) just needs to shut up and deliver.
Anyone notice he wares the same jeans and shit in every public event ? The economy must have struck him real hard.
Since the release of the 8800GTX, Nvidia has been nothing but talk and rebrands.
Very disappointed by my fav company.

Does Maxwell come with portable nuclear reactor?

No problema then!

Nvidia is all set: virtual chips on virtual fab processes. Consider it done!

No this site always seems to lean toward NVIDIA. Anyway 40 x faster than Fermi? In what, gaming? It seems NVIDIA left gamers out in the cold and Fermi was a good example of that.

I actually fell for the fermi hype hook line and sinker, and was singing Nvidia's praises and ignoring AMD. I've seen this movie before. Call me when hard silicon is reviewed.

I am making a counter-announcement on behalf of AMD.

I am announcing that the new AMD chip will be 80 times faster than Fermi and will be produced on 12nm process, and you can take that to the bank!

It will be available in 2012 or however long it will take for people to forget I made this promise.

Also if anything goes wrong I'm blaming TSMC
