Radeon HD 6970 UK price starts from £276.12

£205.02 inc. VAT for 6950

This time around we have decided to split our pricing article in two. We used German prices for Europe as more or less every large country in the EU gets prices similar to the German market or slightly higher. Smaller countries traditionally pay a bit more and the UK is an island to itself, literally. This is why we give the UK some special attention.

Ebuyer lists XFX's HD 6970 with 2GB GDDR5 memory for £276.12 including VAT and at press time it has 28 of them in stock. Sapphire is literary a single penny more and it costs £276.13 inc. VAT with 25 cards in stock. Power Color has 37 cards and sells for £283.18.

Sapphire HD 6970 2GB GDDR5 DVI HDMI Dual Mini DisplayPort BFBC2 Vietnam Special Edition PCI-E Graphics with a nice aluminum case and BFBC2 Vietnam sells for £287.72 after taxes and six are available for pre order. This looks like great value.

When it comes to 6950 cards Gigabyte has four cards for £205.02 including VAT, PowerColor has 98 cards for £220.89, XFX has 38 cards available for £223.21, and Sapphire has 60 of 6950 cards for £223.22.

All of Ebuyer cards are listed here.

Scan has all the cards on pre-order listed here. OverclockersUK currently have ten or more HIS Radeon HD 6970 cards for £279.99 as well as HIS Radeon HD 6950 2GB for £219.98, listed here and here.

Happy shopping for the willing.

GTX 570 offers better value being cheaper and peforming better most benchmarks. Nvida are back on track.. If they can release a dual card then no doubt they will dominate at every level with performance. If AMD can lower prices further though they will still be competitive. Im glad I got GTX 570 this time around though was worried that the HD 6970 was going to have GTX 580 performance and be really cheap but I think Nvidia clearly have the better card in GTX 570 let alone GTX 580...

Boomstick777 stop trolling. The 570 does not perform better in most benchmarks. You will regret buying a 570 once the reviewers decide to benchmark Cayman with the CORRECT FRAKING DRIVERS.

Its not trolling, I have owned AMD cards and Nvidia cards. Im only interested in the best value and that is the GTX 570 at $50 cheaper or around £30 cheaper than HD 6970 in uk with better performance it is obviously the better buy this time. The problem there are to many fanboys who don't have non biased opinions. Or just uninformed people who will belive what other fanboys say. Read around GTX 570 is faster, cheaper, HD 6970 is a good card but it is priced wrong as it had lower performance than GTX 570...

Please use the correct drivers next time you want to flame AMD , your trolling , thank you , Captain Obvious .
Nvidia didn't do a single bit of performance upgrade everytime they released a driver , its all just fixes they should have done in the first place .

Im not trolling lol, You just come across like another moronic fanboy, ah well there are fanboys with everything, AMD/Nvidia Xbox360/PS3 etc.. And all just as sad as each other. I guess its impossible for fanboys to have a neutral perspective..

What people need to highlight is that AMD have never really made a BIG chip, Nvidia already have years of experience with giant, power hungry chips, AMD have always remained smaller than a postage stamp until now so even if power usage is 10w or so more it doesn't really matter, the high transistor count helps in hardware tessellation, it's going to use a ton of power but I guess that's what you pay for awesome DX11 features, it's literally on par with the GTX570 in performance but they're offering it for a great price, definitely worth the buy
