During IFA, Casio was previewing its upcoming 60fps Exilim camera, although no model name was disclosed. This is the first camera to make an apperance that makes use of the new Sony 60fps CMOS sensor.
The sensor is "limited" to 6Megapixels, which might be dissapointing to some, but at 60fps this camera beats everything in this market segment by miles. It can also shoot VGA at 300fps, which is some 100 times faster than most digital cameras in video mode.
It's also got 12x optical zoom, but it doesn't appear to be very wide angle at all as from what you can read on the camear itself from the photos, the zoom is 7.4 to 88.4mm which is 35 to 420mm 35mm equivalent. It's got a 2.8in LCD display around the back and it stores its pictures on SDHC cards.
It measures 127.5 x 79.5 x 130 mm (WxHxD) and weighs 650g. Judging by its design, this is a pro-sumer camera and it should appeal to those into sports photography as with 60fps you'll never miss a shot.
