Both sides scarred

While both Intel and AMD have been battered from the price cuts they have had to inflict on themselves to compete, it looks like Chipzilla is winning the war.

According to analysts Needham & Co Intel is expected to have weathered the storm better than AMD in the first quarter. Analyst Edwin Mo said that Intel is going to make slight gains into AMD's market share and that will off-set much of the loses it made in cutting the prices.

Intel is currently forecasted to report sales of $8.9 billion. Intel won more share, withstanding a string of price cuts AMD initiated to clear older processor parts, analysts say.
