Intel roadmap: $999 in Q3’07

Intel's upcoming QX6850 Quad core just got its price. This is the only Core 2 Quad actually called Core 2 Extreme to reach the 1333 MHz FSB. It has a total of 8 MB cache memory or should we say 2x4 MB as this CPU actually has two dual cores inside one chip.

The rest of the FSB 1333 MHz CPUs are also scheduled for Q3, but the rest of the family is actually based on Core 2 Duo, dual core marchitecture and goes from 3GHz to 2.33 GHz.

The Core 2 Duo 6850 clocked at 3 GHz and FSB 1333 will drop to a mere $266. Price wars are on.
