Not a cheap CPU

Impress Akihabara watch is reporting that the mobile Intel Core 2 Extreme X7900 is available to purchase in Japan.

If you're considering upgrading you're notebook processor, we hope you've got very deep pockets, as this baby is retailing for about €761. This is for a bulk processor and we doubt Intel will ever sell these retail.

It's the fastest notebook processor to date at 2.8GHz on an 800MHz bus with 4MB of L2 cache. It has a TDP of 44W and is for Socket 479.
