That is the plan

In case we haven’t told you this before, AMD Live works with AMD processors and doesn’t run on Intel. It likes Nvidia and ATI's chipsets, and if you want all features it is good to have a great ATI graphics card to support several HD video streams. The browser can showcase up to 9 videos in the circle style and if you have a 3650 or faster graphics card it might render four, or even more, videos at the same time.

AMD plans to start shipping this with its CPUs, as consumers like free stuff, and currently the Beta is available at www.amdlive.com. The minimal requirement is Athlon / Sempron, while a dual core Athlon X2 will do much better and, of course, for best performance Phenom is the one to go for.

AMD ultimately wants to get the people to buy more of its chips, as this thing won’t work on Intel and increasing the market share is something that AMD desperately wants and needs.
