Deneb 45nm K10.5 can hit 3.2GHz+

Finally, the real deal


We know it will come late in the game, but there is at least something that AMD fans can hope for. K10.5 AMD's 45nm Deneb quad-core part can hit 3.2GHz.

This is at least what some internal data shows and this is possibly enough to match Intel's offerings in Q4 2008.

Intel plans to launch Nehalem, and it will probably work around 3.0GHz or higher, and if this remains the case, AMD's 3.2GHz Deneb can actually fight for the performance crown.

It is likely that Nehalem might win this round, but AMD will be more competitive and at least close to Intel's highest-end offering.

Samples will be out in Q3, but you can expect to see these CPUs in Q4 time. Let’s hope that they do it in early, rather than in late, Q4. Remember, this is the plan and it includes a best case scenario and it doesn’t have room for many mistakes.
