Retail gets them

A few weeks after the initial launch of the tri-core B2 Phenom CPUs for OEMs (8x00 series), AMD has now introduced the new Tri-core ones for the retail market. We are talking about three B3 Phenom 8x50 processors.

All manufactured at 65nm and with 2MB of L2 cache, these crippled Quad-cores are AMD's response to quite popular Intel E8000 CPUs. The trio announced today consists of the 2.4GHz Phenom X3 8750, Phenom X3 8650 working at 2.3GHz and the lowest clocked Phenom X3 8450 working at 2.1GHz.

AMD's suggested prices for these Phenoms are US$145 for the 8450, US$165 for 8650 and $195 for the 8750. These three CPUs are currently listed in Europe and the lowest prices that we could find are €121,82, €139,11 and €157,81. The Phenom X3 8750 price is quite exactly the same as the X4 9750. Wait for the AMD price cuts, a X3 should cost about €120,-.

You can find them listed here.

We will have a full review online soon, so stay tuned.
