Exclusive: And VP of human resources

AMD will announce that it will let Mario Rivas go; Mario has worked as an Executive Vice President, Computing Products Group at AMD. Hector is probably sad to see one of his Motorola fellows to go and Mario will leave after roughly three years at AMD.

He spent 19 years at Motorola and before that, he worked for TSMC and Phillips. We meet with Mario two years ago in Vegas and we can only say positive things about Mario, and we wish him all the best for his future.

We guess he just joined the company at the wrong time. Coincidently, in March 2008 AMD has hired a new guy named Nigel Dessau at serve as a Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer and we guess he will be taking Mario's job. Nigel previously worked for Sun, Storagetech and IBM; and we have heard a lot of nice things about Nigel.
