400GB and 480GB of SSD storage

OCZ has officially announced its newest models from the already available Vertex 2 and Agility 2 solid state drives, with 400 and 480GB capacity. All new solid state drives feature SandForce's SF-1200 controller and will offer some quite impressive maximum read and write speeds with even more impressive capacity.

Both the Vertex 2 and Agility 2 will be available with either 400GB capacities as well as with 480GB for the "extended" versions. The maximum read and write speeds for both drives are set at 250MB/s and 2405MB/s while both of them have a sustained write speed of up to 200MB/s. The only difference, and quite important one, is that Vertex 2 has a random 4KB write of 22,500 IOPS while Agility 2 is limited to 10,000 IOPS. Of course, this is for the 400 and 480GB versions while those with less capacity have a bit higher performance.

All drives are based on a 2.5-inch form factor, have native TRIM support, MTBF of 2 million hours, come with a 3.5-inch adapter bracket, and most importantly have 3-years of warranty.

Both of the new Vertex 2 and Agility 2 SSDs are already listed and can be found for €1,899 and €1,799 for the 400GB versions and also as an extended versions for the same price. You can find them listed here and here.
