ASRock has announced the world's first DisplayPort capable motherboard. Based on AMD's 780G chipset in combination with SB700 Southbridge this motherboard is the first one that can do DisplayPort.

ASRock's A780FullDisplayPort supports dual DDR2-1066, has one PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slot and comes with integrated RV610 graphics core (Radeon HD 3200) with support for DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, maximum shared memory of up to 512MB and ATI's Hybrid CrossfireX function.

Other specs include six SATA ports, PCI-E Gigabit LAN, Firewire, and six USB 2.0 ports. DisplayPort is done over a raiser card called ASRock DisplayPort card, since DisplayPort isn't located on the back panel. It is nice to see that Displayport is finally going somewhere.
