Supports DDR2 and DDR3

SUPoX, the remnants of EPoX, seems to be back in the high-end game, as the company is about to launch an Intel X48-based motherboard. OCWorkbench scored a preview of the board and it has some rather interesting features, such as support for both DDR2 and DDR3 memory.

Several manufacturers tried to create combo boards on the X38 chipset, but from what we understand, this wasn't an easy task, as the performance didn't end up as good on the combo boards as it did on boards with support for only one type of memory.

Nonetheless, the SUPoX Odin AP48+ GTR seems to have it all, and the engineers at SUPoX seem to have figured out how to solve the problem. It might have something to do with the fact that the board has four DDR3 slots and two DDR2 slots, whereas most X38 combo boards have two DDR3 and four DDR2 slots.

The board has all the usual stuff you'd expect to see on a high-end board, such as eSATA, FireWire, dual Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1-channel sound with optical S/PDIF, no less than nine SATA ports, three x16 PCIe slots, although only two have full bandwidth, a debug LED, and of course, a fancy heatpipe cooling setup.
