Paper launch, anyone?

Foxconn's highly anticipated BlackOPS motherboard based on Intel's X48 chipset was apparently just paper launched back in April. Thanks to a hint from one of our readers, we took a closer look at the e-tail/retail market just to find that BlackOPS is something like a myth, at least for retail.

Foxconn had officially announced the release of this motherboard back on April 18th and we are talking about the motherboard packed with high end stuff, such as an 8-phase digital PWM, four different chipset cooling options and much more. It is something that Foxconn liked to call an extreme overclocking board.

Back then, Foxconn's press release stated that it should be available sometime in April. Guess what, April has passed and even those fortunate people who can afford a $400 motherboard just can't buy it.  According to our info, first samples should arrive sometime during this month, but the reasons behind the delay remain unknown.

Thanks goes to our reader, Tom.
