More iPhone specs came out today, and these seem promising, but do take them with a grain of salt.

Apple claims their new baby will feature "up to 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback."

“With 8 hours of talk time, and 24 hours of audio playback, iPhone’s battery life is longer than any other ‘Smartphone’ and even longer than most MP3 players,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO.

Apple's eight hour claim is very optimistic to say the least, especially considering we're talking about such a feature rich multimedia device.

Stanby time is said to be 250 hours, or just over ten days. Basically, someone at Apple could turn on a fully charged iPhone at press time and it would keep working till the release date in 11 days.

I think we all know better than to trust phone makers as far as these numbers go. Some may argue that Apple is not a phone maker yet, but never mind. They're new on the market, so we can't really hold this against them.

If they do manage to squeeze anything close to these numbers out of their batteries the competition will really have something to weep about.

The other bit of good news concerns iPhone's 3.5" display. In fact its entire top cover will be crafted from the finest optical quality glass, so you might say scratches be gone. The press will put Apple's claims to the test in just ten days, as the iPhone will launch on June 29.
