GS stands for good start

Although
some punters have criticized Apple for not offering a major aesthetic improvement over the previous version, iPhone 3G S sales seem to be doing just fine.

Cupertino has announced it has sold over one million units by Sunday, just three days after its official launch. Six million iPhone users have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 in the five days since its release.

“Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “With over 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever.”

The new iPhone might not offer a major improvement in design, but it does offer much more under the bonnet than the predecessor, including a much faster processor and up to 32GB of storage.

We will review the new iPhone 3G S shortly, so stay tuned.
