Prequel called S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky

GSC Game World announced the development of the new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. chapter for the next year, STALKER: Clear Sky. The new chapter is a prologue to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, and the story of the Clear Sky brings the player one year prior to the events of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game in 2011.

The story, according to PR, is that you will play as a mercenary who appeared at the edge of the opposition between stalker factions, Strelok and even the Zone itself, as you play on, game should end at the point from which the Shadow of Chernobyl game begins.

GSC Game World's PR containes some of the game features, like A-Life-driven War of the Factions, Reworked HUD and PDA, New version of the game engine - X-Ray 1.5., DirectX 10 renderer, Improved DirectX 9 renderer - parallax bump, soft particles, depth of field, motion blur, eye adaptation effect, and a lot of other interesting features.

Game is scheduled for sometime next year. Below you can find new screenshots.
