Wrath of the Lich King announced

Blizzard Entertainment has successfully cut all speculation and rumors about its second expansion, by simply announcing it. New expansion, Wrath of the Lich King will bring a lot of new goodies to the WOW world.

According to the press release and a new trailer from Blizzard, new expansion will open the Northrend, the same one we saw in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, when Arthas became the Lich King.

"This expansion will add some of the most infamous characters and settings from the Warcraft universe to World of Warcraft," said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "In addition to new story content, Wrath of the Lich King will introduce a number of features specifically requested by players over the past couple of years. We're looking forward to sharing further details with everyone as development progresses."

In addition to that, press release had some details about the announced expansion. Levelcap will raised from 70 to 80, as expected, new Death Knight Hero class will be introduced, and as mentioned, new continent of Northrend. Interesting new thing is the announcement of destructible buildings and siege weapons, and that certainly sounds like a lot of fun.

Looks like that Blizzard will easily jump over that 9 million subscribers, as soon as this new expansion hits the shelves. Possible release date hasn't been announced, and you can check out the new trailer here.
