Are you ready
for some football? Fans of the John Madden football video game series have been lining up at local electronic retailers to purchase the new Madden NFL 08 title that will be released today. Many stores are staying open late to offer Madden NFL 08 to eager fans starting at midnight.

EA says that the John Madden football series has sold an impressive 60+ million copies across multiple platforms during its 17-year run. This year Madden NFL 08 will be available on a total of 10 different gaming platforms, the most platforms ever offered for any edition in the Madden series. The focus, of course, will be on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this year, as comparisons of the game between these two platforms is certain to be a popular discussion topic.

PC Gamers need not feel left out, as Madden NFL 08 will also be available on launch day for the PC platform.
