Spore finally coming

The wait is "almost" over

 

After endless speculation and rumors that have been circulating for a long time, EA Maxis has announced that Will Wright's evolution game, Spore, will finally be available on September 7th, 2008. This date is only for the PC and Nintendo DS and there is no mention of the recently announced Wii version.

Will Wright, famous for creating the Sims franchise, and the man behind Spore, had previously dated the game for spring 2008 release. According to his statement in the press release the game is in its final stages of testing and polishing.

If you have somehow managed to miss this game, which we doubt that you could, Spore will give you a chance to create life from the primordial soup all the way up to where you will be able to explore strange new worlds. "Seek out new life and new civilizations," as Jean-Luc Picard would say, "and boldly go where no man has gone before."

According to our colleagues from Eurogamer.com site, Europe will get this game two days earlier on September 5th. Until then, you can check out the Spore web site.
