Possible that the 360 could finally be on agenda

The ongoing rumor fest that has been Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox 360 has been running at full chat again after a somewhat strange green colored symbol that appeared on the Konami Kojima Productions Web site that are done in such a style that is similar to some of the early advertising for the Xbox 360.

As is normal, the rumor mill has been in full effect with the speculation that Konami has finally given in to what the customers want and had decided to cash in and put out Metal Gear Solid on other platforms. Several that were suggested included the Nintendo DSi and the Apple iPod Touch/iPhone. Depending on how you interrupt the symbols and the entire thing, it seems that the meaning could be twisted to mean a lot of different things.

We think that although the standard reply from Konami is that they don’t comment on rumors the reality is for the publisher that another round of speculation is good for them. We think at this point anything is possible, but the recent boost in Xbox 360 sales just continues to raise the possibility that Konami sees a lot of potential for the release of Metal Gear Solid on other platforms. All publishers are looking at anything that is possible that will generate revenue which has to be considered.

We do think we will see an announcement from Konami soon, but don’t be surprised if the announcement is Metal Gear Solid for the iPod Touch and not for the Xbox 360. We still believe that Konami will not continue to leave all of money on the table and at some point they will, in fact, release it on the Xbox 360, but when this will happen is anyone’s guess.
