Battlefield: Bad Company sequel in the pipeline

More specific details have surfaced about the delayed announcements surrounding several Electronic Arts titles. While not everything is clear, the new details do give us a bit better idea of the length of delay that can be expected.

The Sims 3 title has been pushed back to June to allow EA time to put a more extensive marketing campaign in place prior to the launch of the title.

Dragon Age: Origins from BioWare that will be coming to the PC has been postponed until late in the year. It is likely that it will arrive in time for the 2009 holiday season, according to our sources.

The Godfather II, which was slated to be released later this month, has now been pushed till later this year. Several sources have suggested that the extra time will give the developers time to add additional polish to the game prior to a projected release that should land sometime between April 1st and June 30th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms. We have also been hearing some whispers that EA wants to create some additional excitement for this release in an effort to boost sales.

As has been suspected for some time, DICE has a Battlefield: Bad Company sequel in development; with a target to deliver the sequel that is slated to drop for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 sometime during EA’s fourth quarter, which means it should arrive in early 2010.

As for the possibility of a new Battlefield title for the PC, despite what many have been saying, no official word was give as to the possibility of a new Battlefield title for the PC. While some are suggesting that we will see Battlefield 3 for the PC late in 2009, several of our sources claim if an announcement of a new Battlefield 3 game for the PC is coming this year we will hear about it at E3.

Mass Effect 2, which we told you about yesterday, also seems to be destined to arrive in Q4, as well. While we have not been able to confirm it for PlayStation 3 yet, it is pretty much a given, as we told you that you will see it on the Xbox 360 and PC for certain.

The new Dead Space IP for the Wii is confirmed as in development, but no timetable for a projected release was announced. Our sources suggest that the game needs to take a bit more shape before any idea of when a possible release date will be announced. Look for more info on this during the E3 time frame.
