To celebrate the release of the expansion pack

Lately you have not been able to get much for free, but if you happen to own Grand Theft Auto IV and are not currently an Xbox Live Gold member, you will be able to play GTA IV on Xbox Live from February 17th to February 22nd for free to celebrate the release of the GTA IV expansion pack called “The Lost and Damned.”

The Lost and Damned expansion pack will be available exclusively for the Xbox 360 platform starting on February 17th for $19.99 and it will require the original GTA IV disc to play the expansion pack. While you have to download the expansion pack over Xbox Live, you do have the option of purchasing an in-store “token card” that can be redeemed for the download for those who do not want to use their Microsoft Points to purchase it.

The Lost and Damned expansion pack will center on a motorcycle gang where you play the role of Johnny Klebitz. The story will have new missions, multiplayer modes, vehicles, music, weapons, and of course some cross tie-ins with the original GTA IV story and characters.

While this expansion is exclusive for the Xbox 360, no plans have been announced whether we will see it in the future on either the PlayStation 3 or PC platforms. According to whispers that we have been hearing, it will remain exclusive to the Xbox 360. No additional announcements have been made as to whether we can expect additional expansions for GTA IV, but at this point our sources are telling us that it has yet to be decided.
