Add-ons seem to be the theme of the day

Rockstar released the Xbox 360 exclusive Grand Theft IV add-on download, The Lost and The Dammed. The 1.86GB downloadable add-on seems to be doing well despite a lot of grumbling over the 1600 points that the add-on costs. Nonetheless, if you can get past the continued use of extreme profanity over and over again, the biker culture-oriented extension of GTA IV feels like much more of a new game than an add-on.

DICE has released a new Time Trial Pack for Mirror’s Edge. For 800 points you will be able to attempt to burn up the races in time trials in an effort to achieve the top score. The new maps are designed for time trialing and that is it; it will be a challenge to those who have been into the title since release. It will also be available for PlayStation 3, as well, and while the Time Trial Pack for the PS3 will cost $10, all PS3 users will also get treated to a free map.

Fantasy Factory star and skateboarding sensation, Rob Dyrdek, will have his indoor Fantasy Factory skating environment converted into electronic format, so those that own Skate 2 can download it for 400 Microsoft points and skate the same things that they are seeing on the new Fantasy Factory series that just recently premiered on MTV. The add-on for Skate 2 will also offer some skating in the surrounding L.A. area, as well as the Fantasy Factory, which is the centerpiece of this add-on. Additional Skate 2 download content is in the pipeline, including the next download content featuring some of the best spots to skate from the original Skate.

Developer Bongfish announced that their upcoming snowboarding title, “Stoked,” has gone gold for Xbox 360. Stoked will be released on February 24th and looks to be an interesting take on snowboarding that features a new dynamic weather environmental system which is unique to the game. The game is being sold at a bit lower price, but the initial previews that we have read seem to be very positive; so if you like snowboarding this might be one to check out.
