Former Ensemble troops to work on new IP

The waiting and wondering is over. The second studio to be formed from the disbanding of Ensemble Studio will be called Bonfire Studios. As we had told you previously, the other studio to come out of the former Ensemble team was Robot Entertainment.

As with Robot Entertainment, we don’t have a lot of information yet on what the gang at Bonfire will be working on. According to various sources, the studio is currently made up of 35 veterans from Ensemble and they will be working on new original IP.

David Rippy, the CEO of Bonfire, says that they will start talking about their new IP within the next couple of months. Some whispers that we have been hearing suggest that Bonfire should be talking more about this new IP as soon as a publishing partner is secured and more of the details are set. Our best guess is that we should be hearing at least something in the E3 time frame.

Bonfire Studios will be based in Dallas, Texas and the management team is made up of former employees of Ensemble Studios who were responsible for the Age of Empires franchise as well as the upcoming Halo Wars RTS for the Xbox 360.
