Capcom releases trailer to Xbox Live

Capcom dropped a couple of good hints last week that they would have something to announce this week, and today the hints proved true with the release of a new preview teaser trailer for the upcoming and just announced Lost Planet 2.

So far, the trailer downloadable teaser trailer was first made available via the Xbox Live Marketplace in Japan, but we suspect that Xbox Live users outside of Japan will also be seeing it shortly. Lost Planet was a third person shooter that was quite successful for Capcom, and it appeared on several platforms. The sequel looks to start in the same ice planet as the original, but a global warming event will open up new environments such as jungles.

The sequel will use the MT-FrameWork 2.0 engine that powers Dead Rising and will be overseen by Jun Takeuchi of Resident Evil 5 fame. The sequel will offer a variety of play modes, but the focus appears to be on co-op play. Players will also get to experience different rival “snow pirate” factions in the story mode, as well.

As for which platforms the game will appear on, that seems to be a bit up in the air at the moment. For certain we can safely say that Xbox 360 will get it, but it is unclear whether or not there will be a PC or PlayStation 3 version. So far, nothing that we have seen seems to indicate that it will be available for any other platform, but all of the recent announcements from Capcom of upcoming titles have been multiplatform announcements.
