In a recent interview with MTV Multiplayer, John Carmack spilled some beans about what we’re to expect from id software in more recent future. Mr. Carmack was talking about Rage multi-platform development, id’s iPhone titles and even the possible Wii title that the company may be involved in.

He said how bringing Rage to Xbox 360 and PS3 hasn’t been an easy task, as both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses at different fronts, but he mentioned that Xbox 360’s lack of space will be solved by using multiple disks and various compression techniques.

As for the iPhone titles, he mentioned how the company has a beefed up version of Wolfenstein in store, featuring 3D graphics, sound and acceleration. He also talked about another title, that’s still in the shadows, as they don’t plan on unveiling it until they think it’s time.

Carmack admitted that he spends a lot of time on the Wii, and how he’d like and is in talks to develop a Wii game. When asked whether it’s related to the unnamed iPhone title, Mr. Carmack answered:” Yes, it could possibly lead into it. Not directly from that, but a very similar concept for something”.

PC gamers will be also happy to hear that id expects to ink a publisher deal for Doom 4 this year, and that we should expect some media build-up then.
