Windstorm Studios to take flight, as well

A surprise announcement reached us today with the announcement that in fact a third development studio was being formed out of the ashes of Ensemble Studios. Industry veteran developer Dusty Monk has announced the launch of Windstorm Studios.

Monk has a very impressive track record as a contributor and developer on some of the best and largest titles released for a variety of platforms. According to the Windstorm Studios Website, the company is looking for funding partners that share Monk’s vision of building the online game of tomorrow.

From what our sources are whispering to us, Windstorm will be focusing on the development of a new online game title that is said to be fresh and unique. It has been suggested that it could be that many of the concepts and ideas that were pitched previously by Monk for a new online title could be part of the company’s first project.

It is still a little early for the studio to announce what it has planned, but it will be interesting to see what Windstorm has to offer, as it appears that Monk is planning to take a unique approach to getting it done. Windstorm will join Bonfire Studios and Robot Entertainment as the three studios to result from the closure of Ensemble, but Windstorm could be the most interesting to watch.
