But still no notebooks

Intel has
started selling its mini PCI based 5350 WiMAX / WiFi card, but so far we haven´t seen any of them available in notebooks. Of course, this might change with the launch of new notebooks but this is yet to be seen.

The card is available for notebook manufacturers as of Q1 and it supports 802.11n WiFi and Wimax. The card is codenamed Echo Peak and we hope to see it soon in some fancy notebooks.

Wimax is still not something realistic, at least not in most of the towns and countries in the world, but it still sounds more exciting than good old 802.11n wireless.
