Finally, $500 cheaper
Dell has finally listened to some sane people in its sales team, and it
has dropped the price of its Adamo ultra thin by about a quarter.
The cheaper SKU, powered by a 1.2GHz CPU, has dropped from $1,999 to
$1,499, finally making it a serious alternative to Apple's MacBook Air
or Lenovo's X301. The pricier 1.6GHz version is now $400 cheaper, and
sells for $2,299, which is still quite a lot, all things considered.
We reviewed the Adamo a couple of months ago, and we liked just about
everything about it, apart from its immense price tag. (And poor battery
life. sub.ed.)
At $1,499, it's still no bargain, but at least it's looking a lot more sensible.
