Misses the Pinetrail

LG has shown its vision of the ultra-thin 11.6-inch notebook, the LG X300, and although it would be quite logical to use Intel's Pinetrail, LG has decided to skip on that fun train and go for the old 2.0GHz Z550 Menlow Atom.

In addition to the Z550, LG managed to squeeze quite a lot of features into that 17.6mm thick case so the new X300 will feature 2GB of memory, SSD drive for storage, WiFi, Bluetooth, integrated 3G UMTS modem and a 1.3M webcam.

LG apparently plans to bundle this one with two batteries that will be enough for about seven hours of mobility.

It should be available as of next month although LG is still quite about the price.
