The 14-inch CX420 and CR420

MSI has announced two new additions to its Classic notebook line, the CX420 and CR420. Both models feature a 14-inch screen, a wide variety of Core i3/i5 processors, and Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Both the CX420 and the CR420 models have the same 344.4x221x28mm (WxDxH) dimensions and 2.2kg weight. The rest of the features include a Chiclet keyboard, scratch-resistant coating, MSI's ECO Engine power saving technology with five different modes and mentioned Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

The specifications start with Core i3/i5 CPU paired up with Intel's HM55 chipset, up to 4GB of DDR3 1066/800 memory in two slots, up to 500GB of HDD space, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11bgn WiFi, Bluetooth V2.1, 1.3M webcam, card reader, three USB ports and HDMI and D-Sub outputs. The only difference between the models is the choice of graphics, as the CX420 will have AMD's ATI Radeon HD 5470 with 1GB of video memory, while the CR420 will be stuck with integrated "Intel HD graphics".

The 14-inch LED-backlit screen has a 1366x768 resolution and both models will feature a 6-cell battery.

The price or the availability date haven't been announced, and you can expect a bunch of various SKUs depending on the CPU choice.
