Thinner and faster

Acer is
gearing up to refresh its Timeline thin-and-lights with Intel 32nm processors and Macles has dug up some info on the revamped TimelineX 1830T.

Apart from the 'X', the 1830T seems to feature a somewhat sleeker and thinner design. However the general layout has remained the same, although it looks a bit better than the 1810T. It also retains the same 11.6-inch screen. The big news is what's under the bonnet. The 1830T is based around Intel's Core i5 520, a 1.06GHz CPU that can be overclock to 1.86GHz, thanks to Turbo Boost.

Of course, the new CPU also packs integrated graphics, clocked between 166MHz and 500MHz depending on the load. The rest of the package includes Intel's HM55 chipset, b/g/n WLAN, HDMI and optional Bluetooth and 3G.

Acer is expected to formally announce the new TimelineX series towards the end of March.
