Cebit 2010:
i5 430M with HD5730

MSI
conveniently spread their latest additions to their gaming laptop family in two price segments, in order to cater to both extreme gamers with cash to spare and those who aren’t prepared to seriously go over the top.

The GE700 comes with Intel’s Core i5 430M CPU and ATI’s Radeon HD 5730 graphics with 1GB of dedicated DDR3 RAM. The machine can host up to 8GB DDR3 memory and has 17.3 inch display. The Core i5 430M works at 2.26Ghz and is based on Arrandale 32nm CPU with 45nm integrated graphics and with the help of turbo this CPU can overclock to 2.53GHz. The bad part is that its TDP is at 35W.

We are not aware of thefact if you will be able to switch ATI graphics when in desktop and save some power, but we can sure ask around. Radeon HD 5730 graphics works at 650MHz, has 627 millions of transistors, 400 stream units, 20 texture units, 32Z Stencil ROPS and 800MHz memory support. Its TDP is 26W which is not so bad and total memory bandwidth is 25.6GB/s.

The rest of the specs and features are listed on the picture below, so we’ll let you peek for yourself.

The pricing is half of what the GT660 will go for, which means that you should expect it priced around €1,000 when it hits the market.
