Nokia readying ARM tablet for Q4

According to Digitimes, Nokia is working on an ARM-based tablet and it should be ready for launch in Q4 2010.

Nokia has reportedly already completed around 100 engineering samples, but the specs are rather vague at this point. The tablet should sport a 7-inch or 9-inch screen and it will be manufactured by Foxconn, which comes as no surprise. Digitimes believes Nokia will use its Meego OS on the tablet, but it’s still a bit too early to be sure.

Nokia has a well developed network of telecom partners all over the world, so it should have no trouble distributing the new tablet with a shedload of data plans suited for all markets.

More here.

I hope that, at last, they will develop something FAST, not only stylish, with shiny label NOKIA on top of it, filled with OVI crap. Android OS would be a lot nicer.

google is pushing android os, its getting popular, so developers too will be more intrested in developing applications for android os than Meego OS. so android would definitely be a good choice...

This is probably gonna come with bank-breaking data plans. Then again, since the iPad's selling like it is, i'm sure there will be plenty of hipsters out there to shell out for a shiny what-do-i-do-with-it tablet.

MeeGo looks very promising just tried it on my netbook and seems very nice.

Have you played with N900, it is there present also! Seeing how seriously NOKIA is pushing forward its OVI service in S60 and S40 based phones currently at the moment, it is rather impossible to hope that it won't be there also. Android is the best option up today, look - how many applications are out there already, for HTC, SE and other custom mobile devices.
