Nail’d to feature rock sounds

Large roster of bands to be featured
Developer Deep Silver continues work on their over-the-top ATV off-road game, Nail’d. While development of the actual game continues, the team looks to amp up the game sounds by working to create a very special soundtrack for the game. The developer has been working with a number of bands on a variety of rock and metal music that will comprise the soundtrack. Some bands were so excited about being a part of Nail’d that they have composed brand new songs to be included with the game.

The game will feature a number of artists, including many names from the land of metal that you might know, including John Boecklin from DevilDriver, Wayne Static of Static X fame, Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, and Raymond Herrera from Fear Factory.

While much of the music for the game are instrumentals, three new tracks created include Count for Something, Decimator, and Through Walls of Flame. In addition, a number of tracks have been licensed for use in the game, including music from Aggressive Chill, American Sixgun, Backyard Babies, Rise Against, Queens of the Stone Age, Slipknot, and Slaves on Dope.

The decision to add such a robust soundtrack to the game goes against the grain of many titles these days, as most developers are not using big name artists in their titles due to expensive licensing requirements. From what we understand, the developers at Deep Silver felt that a pounding soundtrack would add a lot to the feel of the game and was important.

While Nail’d is new IP for Deep Silver, some have described the game as an “over-the-top ‘Pure’,” which was developed by Blackrock Studios. For a game to receive such high praise at this stage in development has to be encouraging to both the developer and publisher as to the sales potential for the title.
