Blizzard cracks down on penis shaped universes

by on06 August 2010

It is not the shape of the future
Blizzard seems a little concerned about the ways that gamers are using the map creation feature in Starcraft 2.

The idea that you can create your own map is fine, but some users appear to be a little testicular about the types of maps they are drawing. Blizzard has created a mechanism to flag and remove maps that are “deemed inappropriate” for various reasons. According to Blizzard community manager Lylirra on the game's official message board players are encouraged to share the maps they create through Battle.net, published maps are subject to review to ensure that they promote a fun and safe environment for all players.

If a map is found to contain inappropriate content, it will be removed from Battle.net and the map maker will be contacted via email. Apparently Blizzard is not just having problems with maps shaped like willies. Some people insist on naming planets and places things that will sail up the noses of others. Like you would expect from the US most of the names are racially bigoted, but equally there are some which are homophobic, sexist and just nasty.
