The UK has joined in the chorus of countries that do not think it is a good idea for Medal of Honour to allow you to play a Taliban and kill UK and US soldiers. The UK defence secretary Liam Fox told the BBC he was "disgusted and angry" by "Medal of Honor", produced by California-based Electronic Arts.

He said that at the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands. He thinks it is shocking that someone would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the Taliban against British soldiers.

Fox added that it was hard to believe any citizen of is country would wish to buy such a thoroughly un-British game. "I would urge retailers to show their support for our armed forces and ban this tasteless product," he said.

It is apparently “British” to only play the “good guys” in such games. The good guys not flying helicopters and machine gunning journalists and children that is. However it is a little strange that it is ok to play the British and Americans against the Taliban. It is equally OK to play the Taliban when the enemy were the Russians, like in Rambo 3.
