Great bundle for a beastly card

We finally managed to score more pictures of the upcoming XFX HD 5970 Black Edition Limited 4GB card that XFX has been talking about for quite some time. The card will be shipped in a small rifle-shaped case with three magazine pockets that will hold the rest of the accessories and this one doesn't lack anything.

The card will be enclosed inside a case shaped like a P-90 submachine gun which is a nice addition to the overall look and feel of the card, but you should think twice before trying to board a plane with this baby in your bag. For those that managed to miss the info regarding XFX's HD 5970 Black Edition, we are talking about dual-GPU card. Each GPU will work at the same clocks as the HD 5870, so you'll have a card that is tuned to work at 850MHz for each GPU and 4800MHz for a total 4GB of GDDR5 memory, 2GB for each GPU.

XFX did extensive job in redesigning the PCB and the cooler so the GPUs are placed as far apart as it is possible and have seperate heatsinks. The entire card is cooled by a center placed blower fan. This beast requiers two 8-pin PCI-Express connectors for power and features a total of six mini-DP outputs, same as the HD 5870 Eyefinity Edition. In order to keep this card as a top-notch offer, XFX has included a total of six adapters, two mini-DP to DVI, one mini-DP to HDMI and three mini-DP to DisplayPort adapters.

XFX has apparently already shipped the card to retail/e-tail and although the price still hasn't been announced, you can expect it to retail at around US $1000.
