DSi to get green & orange in U.S.

by on23 November 2010

New colors for Black Friday release

Nintendo will be adding two new colors to the DSi lineup just in time for Black Friday. It is scheduled to be on retailers’ shelves on Black Friday and Nintendo will be offering a new orange and green DSi bundled with Mario Party DS.

The decision to release the new green and orange DSi units might seem rather uneventful till you hear that the bundle will cost $150, which is actually $30 more than the Super Mario Bros 25th Anniversary bundle (which includes both Mario Kart DS and Mario Party DS).

Analysts that we have spoken with expect DSi sales to continue to be strong this holiday season despite the upcoming release of the 3DS, which Nintendo will release next year. It is thought that DSi will again outpace the PSP for the portable crown this holiday season. Still, when compared to last year we are told that sales could end up being less than Nintendo is projecting for this holiday season; but expect Nintendo inventories to be high and buyers having few problems finding the DSi as well the Wii this holiday season.
