U.K. privacy watchdog, the Information Commissioner's Office, is launching an inquiry into Facebook.

The inquiry follows a complaint by a user who could not delete their profile after closing their account. The ICO is concerned that data remains on Facebook's servers even after a user deactivates an account.

According to the BBC, Facebook believes that it is in full compliance with U.K. data protection law.
