Announcement coming on 24th

Microsoft to reveal something at GDC
Microsoft’s Major Nelson has fanned the flames of the Xbox 360 community saying that they are having an invite-only press event where they are going to announce something big. Beyond saying that, “Just telling you guys, you’re going to be really happy when you hear all the news, that’s all I can say.”

Our sources seem to think that the announcement will be the first official news of the new High Definition remake of Halo: Combat Evolved for the Xbox 360. This does seem a likely candidate, as rumors suggest that this has been in development since the summer of 2010; and it will apparently introduce online play to Halo: Combat Evolved, which is something the first one never had.

It is hard to say if this is what Microsoft has planned, but it would be a big announcement that is sure to please a lot of fans of the Halo franchise.
