Was never considered an option
Bethesda confirmed yesterday that Prey 2 is in development and will be the long-awaited sequel to the 2006 release. Bethesda acquired the rights to the franchise in 2009.

The game is being developed by Human Head Studios in Wisconsin, which is primarily made up of former employees of Raven Software. The game has apparently been in development for some time.

With the announcement, many have been wondering if Prey 2 would be using the id Tech 5 engine, and it is now confirmed that it will not be using the id Tech 5 engine, as it is still in development. In fact, the Tech 5 engine was apparently not even considered as an option for Prey 2.

It is expected that when Prey 2 is released that it will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. No official release date has been set yet for its arrival.
