2015 for next Xbox hardware?

Written by David Stellmack

Rumors are untrue, according to sources
Despite a number of rumors floating about the Internet that certain design photos are proposed designs for the upcoming next generation of Xbox hardware, these are apparently a confirmed fake, as well as the news that the new hardware would be out in 2015.

With the recent news that Microsoft is hiring for positions in the hardware department, tongues have been wagging that Microsoft is already deep into the process of designing new hardware for release. Our sources tell us that while Microsoft might be doing some planning, and even perhaps writing up some specifications of what they would like to have in the next Xbox console, nothing has been decided - including when this new console might arrive.

While whispers that we hear inside the development community suggest that developers are already planning for the next wave of console platforms, no one seems to think that it will arrive anytime soon. While a release in 2015 is certainly possible, we think it still has not been determined and Microsoft would like to continue to tap into the Xbox 360; it is widely believed that the console still has at least a few more good years left with an abundance of software being developed for the platform.

Are they mad to say 2015 ?!!

Xbox360 approx 6 years old and that's too much !

Pc gaming cannot move forward because of Xbox and PS3 old hardware !

They should release a new xbox by the end of 2011 or early 2012 !

Consoles are dead and should be buried. Idea was bad from begin with to build an inexpensive PC platform that has fewer buttons.

Then again I can't really figure what is so big deal with just dumping PS4 out all you need is HP PSU, 150euros worth hardware and the cheapest power connector on market, 1 92mm fan and with warranty saying 'we do not take return' and we are on our way to cook eggs on it like in last generation.

Jesus! in 2014 Xbox 360 will be 10years old and still it will be in stores and still new games will be made for it? are u kidding me - newest games on modified 10 year old GPU? in 2014 every smartphone will have more capable GPU than this "game machine"! that is why Nostaradamus predicted end of the world at 2012.

Lord, I was hoping 2013...

Games are being seriously held back by the platform already. Another 4 years would be nuts...

Console gamers arent demanding, they are still impressed by the graphics on PS3/Xbox.

All they can do to improve graphics on those consoles is to lower the ALREADY TOO LOW fps.

2015? Wow, that is way too late, they should be releasing newer consoles in around 2012 at the very least. Dam, now PC gaming is going to be kept at bay due to the fact XBOX 360/PS3 have many limitations.

What are they thinking? New consoles would refresh the gaming console industry and give it a much needed boost...

What needed boost ? The games sell well and if there is new hardware then they are more expensive...las got a point, console gamers arent demanding and because its possible to milk them with the current hardware, why wasting money for new ?
