Homefront enters U.K. charts on top

Seems reviews don’t matter for most
Another bright spot of news for THQ was revealed that Homefront entered the charts in the United Kingdom at number one. As we have been telling you the game seems to be such that reviews can’t agree on its rating, with review scores all over the place for the title. Apparently, as in North America, players in the United Kingdom are paying little attention to the reviews.

With Homefront vaulting to the number one position, Dragon Age 2 has been bumped down to number two in the U.K. We don’t have the exact sales numbers for Homefront yet, but sources tell us that the Xbox 360 version is accounting for 70% of the sales, followed by the PlayStation 3 and PC platform.

The news does seem to support analysts’ predictions that Homefront will buck the trend and still perform very well for THQ and developer Kaos Studios. Speaking of Kaos, the studio is already talking about a major update that is coming along with the start of what the developer is suggesting will be a steady stream of downloadable content for the title.

Google how old BF2 is smartass.

OT: Trash like Homefront #1 in charts...thats sad. At least mostly by console kiddies, so its not the PCs fault if games like this are successful.

Only played about an hour or so but it's ok. They say the campaign is short so we'll see. However there is talk of single player DLC and that would be good particularly if free on PC :)

Have to say now that see this.

Almost worst scenario crap there is with shiny new booths:
* We seriously don't need Goliath give me an RPG
* Get the damn 'follow' person out of the way. I mean EVERY 5 seconds me thinking 'We got to go' -> "Then get the hell out of my way"
* No cover on game, you get to cover you still getting shoot at.
* Storyline is absolutely horrible. I was first thinking it was really good, but after 5 minutes of gameplay 'I sure as hell don't see this happening'.
* Storyline: I REALLY go 'and how the hell do you know what's the best action' or 'why should I follow who made you the chief'
* All the time out of ammo and all choices are made for you, you have absolutely no freedom to select anything.

2 cents

With PS2/ Original Xbox level graphics. My wife was trying it out last night. I took one look at it, and felt like I was looking at something from years back. Said eff that, I'm not even gonna bother if that's all the "polish" they could muster.

hey, I liked COD2 and 4, but this one is from somewhere deep. I can almost imaging 'Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw' having a field day with this one ;P

i'll put my 2c in too then...
I watched younger bro play this last night on his uber-high-end system with settings maxxed and I was quite unimpressed with the graphics. Then I saw that the campaign mode had the same sort of "name the target once you start shooting him" that you see in multiplayer FPS's. You may as well put a health bar above their head like C&C Renegade!
Then I saw the game play... too fast, too sharp and far too unrealistic. Shooting a G36C with red dot sight was like watching someone shoot an uzi on full auto.
Not interested.
