The card performs worse sometimes at 740MHz that 690MHz. (power limiting technology)

The 590 is a better card than the $h!tty990 on all fronts. Its smaller, quieter, cooler, faster in most games, and less power hungry. Nvidia purposely lowered the clocks on this card.

Actually the 590 is much more power hungry
