Obsidian hit with layoffs

by on27 April 2011

Exact numbers not yet known
Obsidian Entertainment has been hit with layoffs. The studio that has been around for what seems like forever is apparently tightening its belt to help the overall health of the company.

The developer who worked on the Fallout: New Vegas most recently was founded in 2003 and has worked on many high profile titles, but it is perhaps best known for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II. The studio experienced some layoffs back in 2009, if we recall, due to the cancellation of the Aliens RPG title. The full impact of the layoff is not known, or if the layoff affects the project codenamed “Virginia.”

We should know the full extent of the layoffs within the next day or so.
