Cloud based solutions reduce deployment time and cost for remote sites

Cisco unveiled plans to enhance mobility and security at branch offices without adding new hardware or support burdens.  Utilizing cloud deployment models the new solutions provide performance and operational efficiency required by branch environments that are lean on in-person IT support.

Their latest product the Cisco Flex 7500 Series Cloud Controller is designed to be a highly scalable branch controller for multi-site wireless deployments that need centralized management.  The controller supports up to 500 branch locations, 2,000 wireless access points, and more than 20,000 clients from a single data center.  The wireless controller also allows for the remote configuration of wireless access policies, management and security settings without IT staff needing to be present at the location.  The 7500 series Cloud controller is priced at $47,995 and is currently shipping.

Also announced today is the Cisco ISR Cloud Web Security with Cisco ScanSafe solution which allows ScanSafe Cloud Web Security to be seamlessly extended to branch offices by providing web protection and malware detection on a Cisco ISR G2 branch router.  Cisco plans for their ISR Cloud Web Security component to be available in July with a starting price of $2,495.
